Biography of Young John The Wicked Producer

Young John is apparently the youngest and one of the most sought after music producer in Nigeria. Udomboso John Saviours popularly known as Young John The Wicked Producer is a Nigerian record producer, artist and audio engineer. He has proven to be one that knows his onion in the music Industry. Having produced hit songs like Olamide’s Story for the Gods, BOBO, Pepenazi’s Illegal among many others, he’s regarded as one of the best acts in the entertainment scene.

Young John the wicked producer was born on the 15th of February, 1995 in Ibadan, Oyo, south-western part of Nigeria. A descent of Akwa-Ibom, Young John had his early beginnings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He had his elementary and secondary education at Ideal Foundation Primary School, Ibadan and GOF College, Osogbo, Osun State. While in secondary school, he developed an interest in basketball, soccer, playing musical instruments, miming and dance. For his tertiary education, he studied Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan.

The self-acclaimed producer kick-started his music career at an early age, as a keyboardist and drummer in his church. His parents were highly instrumental to his music career. His dad once bought a keyboard and drumset for him to hone his skills. His mother was a multi-instrumentalist who played the guitar, keyboard and violin.

Young John was exposed to music at a young age. He was formerly a member of a group called AVG, which he formed alongside his brothers before he got signed to Hit Factory Studio in 2012. Hit Factory Studio is currently affiliated with YBNL. As a producer and artist at the record label, he came to limelight after producing Olamide’s chart-topping single Story for the Gods. He  also produced Lil Kesh’s Gbese, Efejoku, Olamide’s critically acclaimed Wo and Kizz Daniels’ Mama. Other albums to his credit are  Eyan Mayweather by Olamide, 2 Kings by Olamide & Phyno. Over time, he has collaborated with many A-listers in the music industry like Jaywon, Sexy Steel, Stringz, Sukanmi, Davido, Phyno, Lil Kesh, LAX and others. In 2015, Young John peaked at number 3 in Nigerian Entertainment Today’s (NET) list of “Nigeria’s Top 7 Biggest Music Producers”.

Not much is known about his relationship life as he’s a private person.

Awards and Nominations

The prolific producer in the course of his career has clinched several awards and nominations to his name.

He was nominated for producer of the year at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

He was also nominated for producer of the year at The Headies 2015.

He won the music producer of the year at The Headies 2016.

He bagged award for the African producer of the year at the Soundcity MVP awards.
